Let Him therefore send and do what He will. By His grace, if we are His, we will face it, bow to it, accept it, and give thanks for it. God’s Providence is always executed in the ‘wisest manner’ possible. We are often unable to see and understand the reasons and causes for specific events in our lives, in the lives of others, or in the history of the world. But our lack of understanding does not prevent us from believing God.

INGREDIENTS

1 1/4 c Butter
3/4 c Brown sugar
1/2 c Sugar
1 Egg
1 ts Vanilla
1 1/2 c Flour
1 ts Baking soda
1 ts Salt
1 ts Cinnamon
1/4 ts Nutmeg
3 c Oatmeal

INSTRUCTIONS

Source: Quaker Oats Heat oven to 375 degrees. Beat butter and sugars until
fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add combined flour, baking soda, salt and
spices; mix well. Stir in oats. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto
ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-9 minutes for a chewy cookie, 10-11 minutes
for a crisp cookie. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack.
Store tightly covered. Makes 4 1/2 dozen.
