The Christian faith is unchangeable, which is not to say that men and women of every generation do not need to find it, experience it, and live it; but it does mean that every new doctrine that arises, even though its legitimacy may be plausible asserted, is a false doctrine. All claims to convey some additional revelation to that which has been given by God in this body of truth are false claims and must be rejected (George Lawlor).

As C.S. Lewis once said, “Whatever is not eternal is eternally out of date.” It is simple logic. Why not invest myself it that which will last forever and matter most in this life? Do I have the faith to believe that? Do I have a deep satisfaction for all that God promised me in Christ Jesus, beginning now? If so, I will value that which is really valuable. And in order for that to happen, I need the Lord to continually help me to keep my gaze in the right place because the things of this world oftentimes seem so right and attractive, don’t they? It’s so easy to worship the creation over the Creator, isn’t it? But God has designed it where ultimate fulfillment is only to be found in the eternal realm. So if we choose not to go that route we are programmed for failure.

Pepper Steak Strips

INGREDIENTS

1 Env. Meat Marinade *
1 Med. Onion, Chopped
1 ts Bottled Brown Boquet Sauce
1/2 ts Dried Thyme Leaves
1/4 c Red Wine Or Water
8 oz (1 Can) Mushrooms ****
1 lb Round Steak **
2 tb Butter Or Margarine
8 oz (1 can) Stewed Tomatoes
2 tb Unbleached Flour
1 Med Green Pepper ***
3 c Hot Cooked Rice

INSTRUCTIONS

*      Envelope of Meat Marinade From Store should weigh about .8 ozs.
**      Steak should be cut into strips, about 1/8-inch thick and about
:          3-inches long.
***     Green Pepper should be seeded and cut into strips.
****    Mushrooms should be stems and pieces, and should be drained.
Prepare marinade as diredcted on envelope.  Marinate beef as directed on
envelope; drain well.
Cover and microwave onion and margarine in 2-qt casserole on high (100%)
1 minute. Stir in bouquet sauce, tomatoes, and thyme.  Mix in beef.  Cover
and microwave 8 minutes; stir.  Microwave on medium (50%) 10 minutes.
Shake flour and wine in tightly covered container.  Stir into meat Mixture.
Add pepper strips and mushrooms; mix into sauce.  Cover and microwave until
meat is tender, 6 to 8 minutes.  Serve over hot Rice.
