We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Consider how our Lord Himself resisted Satan when He was tempted in the wilderness (see Matthew 4 and Luke 4.) Jesus did not "bind" Satan. In all three instances of Satan's temptations, our Lord quoted Scripture, and the devil was repelled ("he left Him for a season.") We should follow our Lord's example when attacked or tempted. And let's not forget that if we are going to quote Scripture, we must know Scripture! Our Lord quoted three times from the book of Deuteronomy. How many of us can quote three verses from the book of Deuteronomy? Knowledge of the Word of God is important for repelling Satan, and is crucial for Christian growth and living as well. As He was growing up, the Lord Jesus must have spent a lot of time memorizing the Word of God (see Luke 2:52). What an example for us to follow!
David Reid

To say that God dwells in heaven is not to say that He is contained there. But it is uniquely His home, His center of operations, His command post. It is the place where His throne resides. And it is where the most perfect worship of Him occurs. It is in that sense that we say heaven is His dwelling – place.

INGREDIENTS

450 g Potaotes,peeled & diced
225 g Cabbage, shredded
1/2 A leek, about, finely chopped (the original recipe called for 6 spring onions, but I didn't have any)
50 g Ff cheddar cheese, grated
Seasoning

INSTRUCTIONS

hi everyone, i've been a lurker on this list for waay too long, so it's
about time I contributed something! I adapted this recipe from the BBC's
vegetarian magazine, April 97 issue
Note: the original recipe also called for 2 tsp of wholegrain mustard,
again I didn't have any, so just left it out.
Boil potatoes 15-20 mins, till soft enough to mash. Steam shredded cabbage
5-8 mins (it needs to retain some firmness) Drain potatoes and mash, add
all other ingredients and mix well. Shape into 4 burgers. Heat griller, and
line with foil. Place burgers under griller, grill till nicely browned -
mine took about 8-10 mins on each side. Be careful when turning them - I
used an eggflip to 'slide' them over. Serve with some lightly steamed veg
and crusty bread - Yummo! Posted to fatfree digest V97 #038 by Liz Walkley

A Message from our Provider:

“When Holy God draws near in true revival, people come under terrible conviction of sin. The outstanding feature of spiritual awakening has been the profound consciousness of the Presence and holiness of God. #Henry Blackaby”
