INSTRUCTIONS
POUR OVER
Cheese sauce: Melt butter in skillet; blend in flour, salt and pepper. Add
milk slowly; cook over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat; add cheese. Stir until melted. Casserole: Preheat oven to
37 5. Layer potatoes and ham in greased baking dish; pour cheese sauce over
top. Bake 40 minutes. Microwave: layer potatoes and ham in microwave-safe
dish. Top with cheese sauce. Microwave on HIGH 4 minutes. Individual
dishes: layer potatoes and ham in microwave-safe bowl or plate. Microwave
on HIGH 1 minute. Night before preparation: cook and peel potatoes, then
refrigerate in plastic bag. Make cheese sauce and refrigerate. If making
casserole, dice and layer potatoes and ham. Add cheese sauce just before
baking, so it doesn't develop a tough film on top.
