We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

As Christians growing into maturity in Christ, we don't deny our feelings, but rather we pray for our feelings to be aligned with the gospel, aligned with the Word of God, aligned in ways that will only bring glory to Christ, aligned with biblical truth. We want our feelings not to drive the equation of decision-making and understanding. We want feelings to follow. We don't want to be unfeeling. That would be to be unhuman. That would be a denial of how we are made in God's image. That would be not only to be insensitive, but incapable of empathy. That can't be right. But at the same time, we have to recognize it can't be right for feelings to drive everything.
Albert Mohler

So what are the essentials of evangelism? We can sum them up in four words: God, man, Christ, and response. God is our holy Creator and righteous Judge. He created us to glorify Him and enjoy Him forever (Gen. 2:7, 16-17; 18:25; Matt. 25:31-33). But mankind has rebelled against God by sinning against His holy character and law (Gen. 3:1-7). We’ve all participated in this sinful rebellion, both in Adam as our representative head and in our own individual actions (1 Kings 8:46; Rom. 3:23; 5:12,19; Eph. 2:1-3). As a result, we have alienated ourselves from God and have exposed ourselves to His righteous wrath, which will banish us eternally to hell if we are not forgiven (Eph. 2:12; John 3:36; Rom. 1:18; Matt. 13:50). But God sent Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, to die the death that we deserved for our sins – the righteous for the unrighteous – so that God might both punish our sin in Christ and forgive it in us (John 1:14; Rom. 3:21-26; 5;6-8; Eph. 2:4-6). The only saving response to this Good News is repentance and belief (Matt. 3:2; 4:17; Mark 1:15; Luke 3:7-9; John 20:31). We must repent of our sins (turn from them and to God) and believe in Jesus Christ for forgiveness of our sins and reconciliation to God (Mark Dever and Paul Alexander).

Recipe By: Chile Pepper Magazing - Feb 93
In place of canned pigeon peas substitute 1 cup dried pigeon peas or 1 cup
dried kidney beans. Remove stems and seeds from chiles. Substitute 2
jalapeno chiles.
Rice and peas (or beans) is a very popular dish throughout the Caribbean,
and perhaps because eating rice with hot foods helps to tame the fire. The
peas used in this recipe are called pigeon or gungo peas. They are about
the size of garden peas and are usually found dried. However, cooked,
canned pigeon peas are also available. If hey aren ot available in your
area, black-eyed peas or kidney beans can be substituted.
Cover the dried peas with water and cook until tender. Drain and reserve
the liquid. If using canned peas, drain and reserve the liquid.
Saute the chile, garlic, and onion in the oil until softened. Add the
rice, and continue to saute until the rice turns opaque and white. Stir the
peas in with the rice.
Combine the coconut mile with 3 cups of the bean liquid. Add water, if
necessary, to make 4 cups of liquid. Bring to a boil and add the rice.
Bring the liquid back to a boil and immediately reduce the heat to simmer.
Cover the pot and cook for 20 to 25 minutes or until the liquid is absorbed
and the rice is tender. Stir in the green onions and serve.
