We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Love is very much a matter of actions rather than emotions. However, although this emphasis on acts of love is certainly necessary, we can sometimes give the impression that love doesn’t involve any emotion – that it is entirely an act of the will, of one’s duty, regardless of how one feels. We can even promote the “I can love him but I can’t like him” type of attitude. The Bible does not support such an unbalanced concept of love…fervently, fondly, and affectionately (are used in the Bible) to describe the love Christians ought to have for one another… Obviously such a fervency of spirit cannot substitute for loving actions, but surely it should accompany them. We dare not settle for less.

We are… saplings here, but we shall be transported into our heavenly soil to grow in God’s light. Here our abilities are in blossom; there they shall burst forth with fruits of greater beauty. Our death is but the passing from one degree of loving service to another; the difference is like that of the unborn child and the one who has entered into the experiences of a new life. Rose Petal Cream with Strawberries

INGREDIENTS

2 pt Fresh strawberries
1 Fragrant dark red rose
2/3 c Light cream or
Half-and-half
1 1/2 tb Confectioners' sugar
Squeeze of lemon juice
2/3 c Heavy cream

INSTRUCTIONS

Wash, dry and hull the strawberries.  Set aside.  Carefully separate the
rose petals, remove the white heel from each petal, and wash and dry them
on paper towels. Chop finely.
In a large bowl, combine the light cream and the confectioners' sugar,
lemon juice and rose petals.  Mix well and let stand, covered, in the
refrigerator for at least 1 hour to blend the flavors.  Strain if desired.
Add the heavy cream and whip lightly.
Layer the strawberries with the rose petal cream in individual bowls.
Yield: 4 to 6 servings.
