We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Use self-control! Here are two pitfalls that most of us fall into in this regard. One is we let the individual take us off the main point. Maybe it's the scoffer: “What about those who never heard the Gospel?” “Where did Cain get his wife?” Maybe it’s the person that just wants to share unrelated stories. You need self-control to prevent yourself from going down rabbit trails that will take you away from the four core elements of the Gospel (God-Man-Christ-Response). Second, you will need self-control to avoid getting emotional, angry, discouraged, frustrated or offended. Oftentimes these conversations can get very sensitive. You need to be filled with the Holy Spirit and produce the fruit of self-control even if the other person has lost his. Don’t let their spirit dictate your spirit.
Randy Smith

Perhaps his total number of devoted followers at the end of His earthly ministry numbered little more than the five hundred brethren to whom Jesus appeared after the resurrection (I Cor. 15:6), and only about 120 tarried in Jerusalem to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:15). Though this number is not small considering that His active ministry extended only over a period of three years, yet if at this point one were to measure the effectiveness of his evangelism by the number of his converts, Jesus doubtless would not be considered among the most productive mass evangelists of the church.

CATEGORY CUISINE TAG YIELD
1 Servings

INGREDIENTS

6 lb Callaloo; chopped
2 tb Butter
3 Onions; peeled and sliced
2 tb Dry Jerk Seasoning; (recipe given previously)
1 c Water
1 cn (8-oz.) tomato sauce

INSTRUCTIONS

For Terri (and anyone else), here are three recipes from JERK: BARBECUE
FROM JAMAICA by Helen Willinsky--for things you asked for, Terri.
Wash the callaloo in lots of water, discarding the old outer leaves. Make
sure that the stalks are cut into small pieces. The stalks should be easily
pierced. If they are too old, they will be pity inside and have a bitter
taste.
In a large pot, melt the butter. Add the onions and saute until almost
translucent. Add the Dry Jerk Seasoning, water, and tomato sauce. Add the
chopped callaloo. Cover and simmer over medium to low heat for 15 to 20
minutes. Adjust the seasonings to taste. (Willinsky says she never uses
much salt.) Serve hot. Serves 6.
Willinsky says you can substitute mustard greens or spinach for the
callaloo, "but it won't be the same."
