We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

No growing occurs, however, without the realization that we cannot progress in our faithfulness to God without the supernatural work of the Spirit. This acknowledgment keeps us from pride in our maturity, or from too hasty judgment of others’ spiritual condition. For instance, I can be tempted to take pride in my parenting by virtue of my children’s wonderful record of scholarship and conduct. However, I may learn upon my entry into heaven that the reason God so blessed me was that my faith was too weak to have persevered with the more troubled children of other Christian parents (whom I too frequently judge for the apparent failings). The challenges of raising a child are as much for the sanctification of the parents as they are for the benefit of the child. Perhaps this is the reason that childbearing and rearing come so early in our adult life cycle. Growing families are God’s pressure cooker to mature many of us quickly for the spiritual trials that he knows are ahead. Only the Spirit knows what is best for the spiritual nurture of each individual, and he matures us by means natural and supernatural that will be fully revealed to us only in glory. Our cause for rejoicing now, however, is faith that our union with Christ makes available to us the work of the Spirit that enables us to change.

I always find it so amazing when you allow people to present their religious conviction, or we could say, “their worldview.' In other words, what helps them believe they will have a successful life after death or what gives them hope, strength and happiness? Often, they come up with some customized cocktail personally created composed of conversations and experiences they have picked up along the way. Take a few marvel movies. Add a memorable talk with the bartender after the night club closed. Sprinkle in some new age reasoning. Add a pinch of Confucius. Take some of the current talking points from 'The View.' Insert a splash of your own intuition and there you go! A customized worldview, one that everyone in the history of humanity has missed, but they are absolutely certain they are correct, and they are willing to base their life and eternity on it.

1/4 c Diced green pepper
1/4 c Diced cucumber

Fresh ground black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

Have been using recipes from "Dr. Berger's Immune Power Diet" exploring the
possibility that my childhood food allergies haven't subsided but at age 50
are just expressing themselves differently. Here are some of the barley
recipes. Cooked barley instead of oatmeal for breakfast. With fresh peaches
just now coming into the farmers market their addition to a bowl of hot
barley is great. No need to add anything else.
Place all ingredients in a bowl, toss and season to taste. Chill for at
least 1 hour. Stir once. Tabouleh Salad can be chilled for up to 2 days.
