We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Do not die, O ye greyheads – ye who have passed your threescore years and ten – do not pass away from this earth with all those pleasant memories of God’s lovingkindness to be buried with you in your coffin; but let your children, and your children’s children, know what the everlasting God did for you.
C.H. Spurgeon

Delays be dangerous, our hearts will cool, and our affections will fall down… Satan hath little hope to prevail unless he can persuade us to omit our duties when the clock strikes, and therefore his skill is to urge us to put off till another time as fitter or better. Do it anon, next hour, next day, next week (saith he); and why not next year (Richard Capel)?

Another item from my favorite Betty Crocker 1950 cookbook. These are quick
to make and rich and chewy. The old cookbook notation says a movie star
made these for her daughter.
Mix shortening, sugar, eggs and molasses. Add flour, soda, salt, and
cinnamon. Stir in oats, nuts and raisins. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls
onto a cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees.
[Grandma sent me some hickory nuts once. These cookies are heavenly with
hickory nuts!]
