We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

We must reject our well-meaning but misguided spiritual determinism. As it turns out, it doesn’t all depend on us. The Bible is full of examples of spiritual giants producing rascally children and noble kin coming from polluted loins. While the proverbial wisdom of Scripture (Prov. 22: 6) and the promises of the covenant (Gen. 17: 7) tell us that good Christian parents and good Christian children normally go together, we must concede that God is sovereign (Rom. 9: 6– 18), salvation is a gift (Eph. 2: 8– 9), and the wind of the Spirit blows where it wishes (John 3: 8).
Kevin DeYoung

A true confrontation with the living God is a direct confrontation with His holiness. And when we really understand His holiness we are never more convinced of our sinfulness. We instinctively know that sin cannot remain in His presence without being judged. And that is the most fearful thing we can ever imagine and that is what draws us to Christ for refuge.

INGREDIENTS

1/2 c Butter or margarine; melted
1 c Sour cream
1 Egg
1 16 oz can whole kernel corn
1 16 oz can cream style corn
1 9 oz pkg corn muffin mix; dry

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 375 F. Mix butter, sour cream and egg together. Stir in
both cans of corn. Blend in dry muffin mix. Spoon into well-greased or Pam
sprayed large casserole dish. Mixture puffs up quite a bit while baking so
use a larger dish than you think it needs. Bake 1 hour until puffed up and
crisp on top.
