God has hidden every precious thing in such a way that it is a reward to the diligent, a prize to the earnest, but a disappointment to the slothful soul. All nature is arrayed against the lounger and the idler. The nut is hidden in its thorny case; the pearl is buried beneath the ocean waves; the gold is imprisoned in the rocky bosom of the mountains; the gem is found only after you crush the rock which encloses it; the very soil gives its harvest as a reward to the laboring farmer. So truth and God must be earnestly sought.

The first thing we learn about time in the Bible is that God created it and that time is contrasted with eternity. Time characterizes creation, but the Creator is eternal. God is not bound by time, and He created time as a feature of creation that reveals His glory. This means that we must always understand time against the backdrop of eternity and God’s eternal purposes... We...are limited to the same twenty-four-hour day. Tofu Jamaican Run Down Stew

INGREDIENTS

1	c	Onions; diced
2	c	Firm tofu; diced
1/2	c	;water
1/2	c	Red bell pepper; diced
1/2	c	Carrots; peeled and grated
2	ts	Garlic; minced
1/2	ts	Sea salt
1/4	ts	Black pepper
1 1/2	c	Run Down Sauce (see recipe)
1	c	Chayote squash; diced

INSTRUCTIONS

Put all of the ingredients, including the sauce, but not the squash, in a
saucepan. Simmer for about 15 minutes. Then add the squash and continue
cooking until the vegetables are tender-crisp. Serve over rice.
