God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Let it be remembered then, that jealousy, like anger, is not evil in itself, or it could never be ascribed to God; His jealousy is ever a pure and holy flame. The passion of jealousy possesses an intense force, it fires the whole nature, its coals are juniper, which have a most vehement flame; it resides in the lowest depths of the heart, and takes so firm a hold that it remains most deeply rooted until the exciting cause is removed; it wells up from the inmost recesses of the nature, and like a torrent irresistibly sweeps all before it; it stops at nothing, for it is cruel as the grave (Cant. 8:6), it provokes wrath to the utmost, for it is the rage of a man, therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance (Proverbs 6:34), and it overthrows everything in the pursuit of its enemy, for “wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before jealousy?” For all these reasons jealousy is selected as some faint picture of that tender regard which God has for His own Deity, honor, and supremacy, and the holy indignation which He feels towards those who violate His laws, offend His majesty, or impeach His character.
C.H. Spurgeon

As a philosophical idea, God’s decreeing of a thing has dominance over His seeing a thing beforehand. Even though…the word foreknowledge is more than pre-sight, we nonetheless cannot disregard the verity that God sees all things beforehand. Thus God’s seeing all things has forever been a reality to Him, and God’s determining all things has also been forever. These two have had eternal origins. As long as He has decreed, He has known; and as long as He has known, He has decreed. So, in one sense, we cannot put one philosophical idea ahead of the other in terms of time. Yet we can put one above the other in terms of dominance. If God has seen and determined at the same time, we cannot make His decreeing subservient to His knowing. The reason one is preceding the other in terms of force (not time) is that determination is a willful act of God, whereas seeing is a passive act. God cannot help but see all, but He wills to decree. Therefore what He determines, He sees; and what He sees, is determined. The force of decreeing a thing dominates the seeing.

Wrap tofu in several layers of toweling to drain off water, leave for 15
minutes. Clean onions and cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces, including tops. Keep
white separate from the green. Cut pieces lengthwise into slivers making
2-3 cuts in each piece. Coarsely chop the fresh herbs. Heat oil in wok or
heavy fry pan and saute the garlic cloves until transparent, removing them
to prevent burning, discard. Cut the drained tofu into 1/2 inch cubes and
saute in hot oil, gently turning each piece after it has browned, about
7-12 minutes. Continue sauteing until golden brown. Drain off excess oil.
Add spaghetti suace and carefully stir to coat all tofupieces. Add all the
whites of the onions and 1 /3 of the green pieces, lower heat, stir and
simmer over low heat for 3 minutes or longer. The longer you simmer it the
more the tofu will absorb the sauce. Add 1/3 of the greens and 1/2 of the
herbs, stir, and cook for an aditional 5 minutes. Serve garnished with the
remaining onion tops and herbs. Serves 4
