We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

The Puritans believed that without perseverance in the obedience of faith the result would be eternal destruction, not lesser sanctification. Therefore, since preaching and the pastoral ministry in general are a great means to the saints’ perseverance, the goal of a pastor is not merely to edify the saints but to save the saints. What is at stake on Sunday morning is not merely the upbuilding of the church but its eternal salvation. It is not hard to see why the Puritans were so serious.
John Piper

In the climate of our modern church, it is essential for us to realize that God’s Word is the central gift Christ gives to the church. The major gifts of the New Testament era were given either to write that word (apostles), apply it (prophets) or teach it (pastors and teachers). Whenever we dislocate our own spiritual gift from this anchor we begin to flounder in a sea of instability. We must see to it that our gifts are fed on the teaching of Holy Scripture, so that they grow strong and are channeled in the right direction, and so bring glory to Christ.

4 c Water
1 c White wine vinegar
1 tb Salt
Marinade:
1 1/2 c Finely chopped tomatoes
1/2 c Finely chopped onions

2 tb Chopped thyme
1 tb Chopped garlic
1/2 c Olive oil
2 tb White wine vinegar

1/2 ts Black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

Recipe by: ESSENCE OF EMERIL SHOW #EE2192 Place the potatoes in a medium
pot with the water, vinegar, and salt. Bring to a boil, and simmer until
they are tender. (The vinegar adds flavor as well as helps the potatoes to
keep their shape even after they are tender.) When the potatoes are tender,
drain and allow to cool for
10 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a medium bowl combine the tomatoes, onions, mustard, thyme,
garlic, olive oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Mix well. Pour into a zip
lock baggie. Place the still warm potatoes into the bag and coat. Allow the
potatoes to sit until they are room temperature, seal the bag and into the
cooler they go. The potatoes will absorb more flavor if they are still warm
when added to the marinade.
