If our blessed Lord used to pray early before day; if He spent whole nights in prayer; if the devout Anna was day and night in the temple; if Paul and Silas at midnight sang praises unto God; if the primitive Christians, for several hundred years, besides their hours of prayers in the daytime, met publicly in the churches at midnight to join in psalms and prayers; is it not certain that these practices showed the state of their heart? Are they not so many plain proofs of the whole turn of their minds?

When you do not understand forgiveness as both an event and a process, discouragement and guilt can set in. This is because your decision to forgive may not immediately heal the hurt, lack of trust, and anger you have towards the person you have forgiven. But if you see forgiveness both as an event and a process, the discouragement and guilt are minimized. You know you have forgiven, even though you are also aware of your temptation to make the person pay for your offense. This awareness keeps you vigilant against sin in your own heart. It leads you to God for His cleansing and strength when you struggle with your attitude towards the person.

Tropic Sun Spareribs

INGREDIENTS

4	lb	Spareribs, or country-style pork ribs
3	lg	Cloves garic, pressed
1	lg	Can (20-oz.) Dole crushed pineapple, undrained
1	lg	Onion
1		Bottle (12-oz.) chili sauce
1/2	c	Brown sugar, packed
1	ts	Ground giner
1/2	ts	Dry mustard

INSTRUCTIONS

Rub ribs with garlic.  Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Arrange onion in
large baking pan.  Place ribs on top. Add 1/4 cup water to pan. Cover with
foil.  Bake in 350-degrre F. oven 1/2 hour. Combine remainig ingredients.
Spoon over ribs.  Bake, uncovered, one hour longer. S
