Eggs Pies 1 Servings

INGREDIENTS

2 tb Butter
1/2 c Sugar
3 tb Flour
2 ts Ground cinnamon
1/2 ts Ground cloves
1/2 ts Ground allspice
1 Egg
2 tb Vinegar
1 c Water
1 8-in *baked pie shell

INSTRUCTIONS

Cream the butter and sugar. Measure and sift flour, cinnamon, cloves and
allspice, add to creamed mixtured. Add egg, vinegar and water. Cook in top
of double broiler until thick. Pour into pastry shell that has been baked 2
or 3 minutes. Bake at 350° until done.
NOTES : This is one of many variations on this great ole Southern pie. This
is the one we like.** Please note that the pie shell is only baked 2-3
minutes before the filling is added and it is returned to the oven. ey
included a lot of Mother's and other family members recipes. I am so glad.
One of the sisters is now gone, as well as Mother. So I cherish this little
book.  We tried to write out some of the old songs the family use to sing
years ago in our childhood. Memories fade so fast don't they?
