We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Effective parents equip their children to overcome the world – not by changing and controlling their environment (things external to their children), but by going after their children’s hearts. We change their hearts by teaching the gospel, modeling the gospel, and centering our homes on the gospel. The gospel, rightly understood and modeled, makes Christianity attractive. Effective parents make the gospel so attractive that the world cannot get a foothold in their children’s hearts.

INGREDIENTS

2/3 Loaf of white bread or left over challa *
3/4 c Milk
3 Eggs
3/4 c Sugar
1 ts Cinnamon
2 Apples chopped into small pieces
1/2 c Raisins
1/2 c Margarine

INSTRUCTIONS

* (I NEVER used a fresh white bread and always adjusted the recipe relative
to the amount of challah I had left over!)
Soak the torn apart pieces of bread in the milk for ten minutes. Squeeze
the liquid from the bread and mix the bread in a bowl with the fruits,
spices and sugar. Add the beaten eggs and the left over milk and mix well.
Grease a baking pan.
Add the mixture to it. Cut 8 small slices of margarine and place on top of
the kugel. Sprinkle with a little cinnamon and sugar. Bake for 40 minutes
at a moderate temperature.
