We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

But that Jesus of Nazareth could be the expected Messiah, as His disciples maintained, was out of the question. It is unlikely that the status, career and teaching of Jesus conformed in any way with Paul’s conception of the status, career and teaching of the Messiah – but that was not the conclusive argument in Paul’s (pre-converted) mind. The conclusive argument was simply this: Jesus had been crucified. A crucified Messiah was a contradiction of terms.

Do we have sufficient grace? Or do we not? Is the Word of God so insufficient which is perfect, totally transforming the whole person according to Psalm 19? Is the wisdom from above which confounds all the wisdom of man and calls it foolishness so insufficient? Is the Lord Jesus Christ in whom we are complete, in whom we have all things that pertain to life and godliness and have been made partakers of the divine nature and possessors of all His fullness so insufficient? Is the Holy Spirit who has filled us with all strength in the inner man and all the fullness of God so that we can do exceeding abundantly above all we can ask or think according to His resurrection power so insufficient? Is the package of spiritual resources we have received in salvation which enables us to do all things through the power of our Christ unable to sufficiently give us victory in life? When Paul said in 2 Corinthians 3:5 'our sufficiency is from God,' was he ignorant?

INGREDIENTS

1 pk (12oz) chocolate bits
1/4 c Margarine
3/4 c Evaporated milk
1 1/2 c Sugar
7 c Oatmeal; Old fashioned, (NOT QUICK OR INSTANT), up to 8
1 c Powdered sugar
1/2 c Coconut
1/2 c Pecans

INSTRUCTIONS

OPTIONAL
These cookies are so rich, I only make them once or twice a year (at the
holidays). It is a recipe I got from my Grandmother. I don't know where she
got it. Also note, I modified my Grandmother's recipe. She used 3 cups of
sugar. I've found that 1 1/2 works just fine. I suggest trying the recipe
without the optional ingredients first. I don't feel they add anything to
the recipe.
In a double boiler, combine first four ingredients. Stir until sugar is
completely dissolved and texture is smooth. While mixture is warm, combine
with oatmeal-use as much oatmeal as you can coat with the mixture. Roll
into balls and then roll in powdered sugar. Store in refrigerator and eat
cold.
Note: If you have trouble rolling the balls, allow them to cool some (in
the 'fridge is ok). Also, wetting your hands with cold water also helps.
Warning: Everytime you open the 'fridge door, you will want to eat "just
one." They can be hazardous to diabetics!
