We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

God decreed from eternity past that you would be like Christ (Rom. 8:29-30); He put His Holy Spirit in you to make sure that it would happen (Phil. 2:12-13); Christ prayed for you to be sanctified, and His prayers are always answered (Jn. 17:17); He even promises you that He will lovingly discipline you in order to return you to holiness whenever you stray (Heb. 12:5-10). How could we ever doubt that God means what He says, “Without holiness no one will see the Lord” (Heb 12:14)?
Jim Elliff

What irony that sinners consider the greatest problem they face in this world to be the problem of pain. The ultimate insult against God is that man thinks he has a problem of pain. Man, who deserves to be plunged into hell at this moment, and is indescribably fortunate that he is breathing normally, complains about unhappiness. Instead of falling on his knees in the profoundest possible gratitude that God holds back His wrath and infinite fury, the sinner shakes his fist in heaven’s face and complains against what he calls “pain.” When he receives his due, he will look back on his present condition as paradisiacal. What he now calls misery, he will then consider exquisite pleasure. The most severe torment anyone has ever known in this life will seem like heaven in comparison with one moment of the full fury of the divine Being.

2 c Granulated Sugar
1/3 c Cocoa Powder
1/2 c Peanut Butter; (Creamy or Chunky Style)
1 ts Vanilla Extract
3 1/2 c Oatmeal

INSTRUCTIONS

It's that time of the year, again. The pencils, pens, and stacks of
notebooks have already started to crowd the stores as the aisles spill over
with fresh-faced buyers surveying the goods that will get them back in
business. It can only mean that summer vacation is coming to an end and
it's time to head back to school.
If you've got a college-bound student in the family, or just want some
easy-to-use recipes in your home collection, The Cook and Kitchen Staff
have some fresh ideas for you as offered from our "Back-to-School" recipe
collection.
Combine butter or margarine with milk, sugar, and cocoa powder. Either
blend in a large bowl and melt in the microwave, making sure the mixture
boils for at least 1 minute, or combine in a saucepan over medium heat,
stirring constantly, and bring to a hard boil for about 1 minute. Remove
mixture from heat source and add peanut butter and vanilla, blending well
while mixture is still warm.
Pour over the top of the oatmeal, and thoroughly blend the ingredients with
a wooden spoon or clean hands -- but only after checking to make sure the
warm, gooey mixture mixture has cooled enough to handle comfortably.
Spoon or drop individual portions on wax paper or a non-stick baking pan
and cool. Serve immediately when cooled and firmed, or store in an
air-tight container for up to 1 week.
Kitchen Staff Tip: Looking to send your college student a care package?
Simply layer the dry ingredients for this recipe in a quart jar and ship it
their way with a bottle of Vanilla Extract, a jar of Peanut Butter, and
instructions (and money) to buy Butter or Margarine. It makes a great
"study hard" gift.
