If we make an idol of any creature, wealth, or pleasure, or honour – if we place our happiness in it, and promise ourselves the comfort and satisfaction in it which are to be had in God only – if we make it our joy and love, our hope and confidence, we shall find it a cistern, which we take a great deal of pains to hew out and fill, and at the best it will hold but a little water, and that dead and flat, and soon corrupting and becoming nauseous (Jer. 2:23).

Do all you can to be reconciled to others, but remember that you cannot force others to do what is right. If you have done everything within your power to resolve a conflict, you have fulfilled your responsibility to God and may stop actively trying to solve the problem (Rom. 12:18)… It is not necessary or wise to waste time, energy, and resources fretting about someone who stubbornly refuses to be reconciled.

Pork Tenderloin with Mustard Sauce

INGREDIENTS

1/4 c Soy sauce
1/4 c Bourbon
2 tb Brown sugar
3 lb Pork tenderloin
1 tb Dry mustard
1 1/2 ts Vinegar
1/3 c Sour cream
1/3 c Mayonnaise
1 tb Chopped green onions
Salt to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

Combine first 3 ingredients for marinade mixture. Marinate the pork for
several hours, turning occasionally. Remove meat from marinade and roast at
325° for 45 minutes to 1 hour, basting frequently. Dissolve mustard in
vinegar and mix with sour cream and mayonnaise. Fold in green onions and
salt. Carve meat and serve with mustard sauce. Yield: 6 servings.
