We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Yet with all their faults and character flaws – as remarkably ordinary as they were – these men carried on a ministry after Jesus’ ascension that left an indelible impact on the world. Their ministry continues to influence us even today. God graciously empowered and used these men to inaugurate the spread of the gospel message and to turn the world upside down (Acts 17:6). Ordinary men – people like you and me – became the instruments by which Christ’s message was carried to the ends of the earth. No wonder they are such fascinating characters.
John MacArthur

Although God is gracious in His eternal being, He need not be gracious or shower His grace upon anyone. If grace were at any time an obligation of God, it would cease to be grace. God’s grace, therefore, is distinguishing. He graciously saves some but not all, not based on anything present in the creature either possible or actual, foreseen or foreordained, but wholly according to His sovereign good pleasure.

Dairy Sainsbury8, Sainsbury’s 4 servings

INGREDIENTS

25 g Medium oatmeal; (1oz)
2 tb Clear honey
2 tb Whisky
284 ml Double cream; ( 1/2 pint)
Raspberries or blueberries; to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

Toast the oatmeal either by tossing and stirring it continuously over
a medium heat in a non-stick pan, or by putting in a dish in a gentle
oven and stirring occasionally.
Let the mixture cool.
Mix together the honey and the whisky. Whip the cream until it forms
soft peaks but is not dry; then fold in the honey and whisky mixture.
Leave to chill.
Just before serving, stir in the oatmeal (if you do it in advance, it
will lose its crunch).
Put the raspberries or blueberries - or a mixture of both - into the
bottom of tall glasses or bowls and spoon the Atholl Brose over.
Alternatively, to make them go further, the berries can be folded
into the mixture.
