We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Ascribing to and endorsing orthodox doctrines should never be confused with genuine faith. Demons can confess monotheism (Jas. 2:19), and yet their hearts are far from the one true God. Indeed, they hate Him and all of His ways. Consider the reactions of the demons when they encountered Jesus during His earthly ministry. They acknowledged that He was “the holy one of God” (Mk. 1:24), and in that sense, “they believed” in Him and knew more about Him at that stage in His ministry than most anyone, even Jesus own disciples. But they certainly didn't love Jesus, and they didn't believe in Him to the extent that they entrusted their lives to Him. This leads me to conclude that there is a kind of faith, and intellectual understanding, that is “bare” and “empty.” It subscribes to mental propositions but doesn't embrace and love Jesus, and in the final analysis it proves to be no faith at all.
Thomas Schreiner

I know this sounds strange, but there is a way of “serving God” that belittles Him, insults Him, and thus robs Him of glory. We must beware of serving Him in a way that implies a deficiency on His part or asserts our indispensability to Him. God is not in need of our service or help. We are in need of His. His purpose in the earth is not sustained by our energy. Rather, we are sustained and strengthened by His. We have nothing of value that is not already His by right.

INGREDIENTS

1 lb Firm tofu
1/4 c Marinade; homemade or bottled

INSTRUCTIONS

Drain tofu. Cut in half horizontally to make 2 pieces. Line baking

additional towel or layer of paper towels. Place second baking sheet
on top of tofu. Place heavy weights (canned goods, cast-iron skillet,
bottled water) on top of baking sheet. Allow to sit 1 hour or longer
(refrigerate if longer than 1 hour.) Unwrap tofu; remove towels. Tofu
is ready to be marinated in bottled marinade, dry seasoning mix,
