God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

General revelation is the essential prerequisite to special revelation. And special revelation is that which redemptively supplements and interprets general revelation. Therefore, if by God's gracious and sovereign enablement and enlightenment, any unbeliever responds positively to the revelation of God in nature (and conscience), God will take the necessary steps to reach him or her with the good news of Christ whereby they may be saved.

When Jesus commands us to be perfect as our Father in heaven is perfect (Matt. 5:48), this simply shows that God’s own absolute moral purity is the standard toward which we are to aim and the standard for which God holds us accountable. The fact that we are unable to attain that standard does not mean that it will be lowered; rather, it means that we need God’s grace and forgiveness to overcome our remaining sin. Similarly, when Paul commands the Corinthians to make holiness perfect in the fear of the Lord (2 Cor. 7:1), or prays that God would sanctify the Thessalonians wholly (1 Thess. 5:23), he is pointing to the goal that he desires them to reach. He does not imply that any reach it, but only that this is the high moral standard toward which God wants all believers to aspire.

1 lb Red radished; trimmed
2 tb Butter or margarine
1/4 c Brown sugar
1/2 c Chopped parsley
1/2 ts Dill; (optional)

Bring 1 cup water to a boil with the 1/4 teaspoon salt in a medium
saucepan. Add prepared radishes, cover and simmer till radishes pierce
easily with a toothpick (10 minutes). Drain water. Add margarine and
brown sugar and toss to form a glaze. Add parsley and/or dill and
serve. The violet color glistens in the butter glaze and the taste is
exceptional. Serves 4-6 as a side dish.
Enjoy!

NOTES : Normally, you think of radishes as salad vegetables; however,
cooked radishes (especially red ones) opens up a whole new area for
enjoyment. Simple prep red radishes as you would for a relish tray
(cut tops and bottoms) and include sliced in soups or whole in your
next stew. Their color becomes violet and the taste and texture is
unlike anything you've tasted. Another exciting recipe is shown below.
