We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

“Love your neighbor as yourself” is not a command to love yourself. It is a command to take your natural, already existing love of self and make it the measuring rod of your love for others. There is not a harder command in the Bible than this one. It means: Want to feed the hungry as much as you want to feed yourself when you get hungry. It means: Want to find your neighbor a job as much as you are glad you have a job. Want to help your fellow student get A's as much as you want to get A's. Want to help the person stalled on the freeway as much as you are glad you are not stalled on the freeway. Want to give the poor softball player a chance to play as much as you want to play the whole game. Want to share Christ with your neighbor as much as you are glad you know Christ yourself.
John Piper

Whatsoever is upon you is from the Lord, and whatsoever is from the Lord, to you it is in mercy; and whatsoever comes in mercy ought not to be grievous to you. What loss is it when the losing of earthly things is the gaining of spiritual things? All shall be for your good, if you make your use of all.

CATEGORY CUISINE TAG YIELD
Seafood Chez, Bruno 1 servings

INGREDIENTS

1 Alose; (freshwater fish)
1 Gat; (freshwater fish)
1 Grey mullet
Plenty of bay leaves
1 bn Spring onions
2 tb Parsley
2 tb Olives
1 tb Celery leaves
2 tb Basil
2 tb Pommery mustard
2 tb Red wine vinegar
2 Roasted green peppers
Olive oil
4 Cloves garlic; (4 to 5)
Lemon juice
Salt and pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

Prepare the barbecue or grill - if using a barbecue, burn some vine
cuttings on it.
Descale and gut the gat, chop off the fins and score the skin. Do the same
with the mullet and alose. Cut the alose into steaks about 3-4cm thick. If
you find any roe whilst gutting the fish, baste this in olive oil, lemon
juice, salt and pepper and wrap well in foil.
Cut the roasted pepper into small cubes and place in a large bowl. Add a
generous amount of mustard, the garlic, plenty of pepper, salt, vinegar,
herbs, olive oil (about half a mug) and lemon juice. Take the prepared
fish, brush with oil and when the grill is very hot, cook the fish with the
roe around the edge. Season the fish with salt and pepper, then sprinkle a
few good pinches of crushed bay leaves on the fish and, if you have enough,
a generous amount on the grill fire.
Remove the alose steaks when nicely coloured and cooked through. The whole
fish will take a little longer - probably about 10-12 minutes. When cooked,
a fork will go easily into the flesh which will come away from the bones.
Place the fish on a plate with the roe and spoon the sauce over.
