We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

But the Gordian knot is easily undone when it is understood that Jesus is to Moses what the butterfly is to the caterpillar. Moses is not struck down. Moses did not 'fail' (Lk. 16:17). Nor was he 'destroyed' (Mt. 5:17). Moses was 'fulfilled.' In Christ, Moses reaches maturity and emerges in full bloom. Moses' law still has relevance, but only as it comes to us from the hands of the Lord Jesus. Christians today must still read Moses, and for great profit, but when they read him they must be careful to wear their Christian lenses. Moses' law is not simply incorporated into the New Covenant as it was revealed through Moses-it is fulfilled, advanced, and brought to completion.

Prayer can no more be divorced from worship than life can be divorced from breathing. If we follow his impulse, the Holy Spirit will always lead us to pray. When we allow him to work freely, he will always bring the Church to extensive praying. Conversely, when the Spirit is absent, we will find excuses not to pray. We may say, “God understands. He knows I love him. But I’m tired. I’m so busy. It’s just not convenient now…” When the Spirit is absent, our excuses always seem right, but in the presence of the Spirit our excuses fade away.

INSTRUCTIONS

About 7 Minutes. Heat 1/2 inch of canola oil to medium-high in a large
nonstick pan. Place the fish fillets crust side down in the hot oil, and
cook rather slowly, until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Turn and continue
to cook 3 to 4 minutes longer on the other side.
When Is It Done?
When it has begun to feel springy to the touch in contrast to its squashy
raw state. If you have doubts cut into a piece--the flesh should be opaque
throughout rather than translucent. Remove the fish and drain on paper
towels.
Serving:
Spoon a serving of mashed potatoes directly in the center of each plate.
Place the fish, crust side up, on top. Drizzle chive oil around the mashed
potatoes and top the fish with a nest of leeks. Serve immediately. Serves
6.
