We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Each of the Persons of the Trinity plays a unique role in the salvation of the elect. The Father elects to save His people in Christ (Eph. 1:4). The Son is appointed and willingly offers Himself as Savior and Mediator (Lk. 22:29; Heb. 10:5-7). The Holy Spirit furnishes Christ with the gifts necessary to accomplish His saving work (Lk. 1:32; 3:21-22; 4:18), and also applies the benefits of Christ’s work to those whom the Father gives to the Son (Jn. 6:38-39; Jn. 17:4). Thus, in a delightful harmony of mutual love and purpose, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit eternally covenant to redeem an elect community.
Cornelis Venema

Oh, what would the damned in hell give for a sermon, could they but listen once more! They would consent, if it were possible, to bear ten thousand years of hell's torments, if they might but once more have the Word presented to them! If I had a congregation such as that would be, of men who have tasted the wrath of God, of men who know what an awful thing it is to fall into the hands of an angry God, how would they lean forward to catch every word.

Thank you all for your help! I was desparate for a bowl of chili and didn't
have any chili powder on-hand -- I haven't been able to find any locally
without additives like msg. Luckily, my desparate attempt for chili was a
big success, even my husband and kids liked it -- and it's hard to please
them all! If anyone would like my recipe, here it is!
Cook about 2 cups dried anasazi beans with cumin, fresh chopped garlic, and
olive oil. When cooked, add salt, stir, then drain.
Mix seasoning blend in small bowl.
Rinse bean pot and brown 1 small package Jimmy Dean Hot sausage. Drain and
put beans and sausage back in pot. Add small can (~ 8 oz) whole tomatoes
and same size can tomato sauce and about 3/4C water. Add seasoning blend,
fresh chopped garlic, and several chopped green onions. Add a few shakes of
crushed red pepper flakes, stir then simmer.
