We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

There were earnest longings that all God’s people might be clothed with humility and meekness, like the Lamb of God, and feel nothing in their hearts but love and compassion to all mankind; and great grief when anything to the contrary appeared in any of the children of God, as bitterness, fierceness of zeal, censoriousness, or reflecting uncharitably on others, or disputing with any appearance of heat of spirit.
Jonathan Edwards

To submit to anyone less than Christ is difficult in a marriage. Yet it is Christ who commands women to be submissive to their sinful, fallible husbands. In this sense Christ is the silent partner of the marriage. It is hard for a wife to submit when she disagrees with her husband. But when she knows her submission is an act of obedience to Christ and honors Christ, it is much less difficult.

Dairy Frugal03 6 servings

INGREDIENTS

1/4 lb Butter
6 Quails
2 sl Toasted bread; cut into cubes
1/2 lb Feta cheese; crumbled
1/2 ts Thyme
1/2 ts Oregano
Salt; to taste
Freshly-ground black pepper; to taste
1 Garlic clove; crushed

INSTRUCTIONS

Heat the butter in a large frying pan. Roll the birds in the hot butter.
Butter a baking dish with some of the melted butter and spread the bread
cubes in the dish. Stuff the birds with feta and place them on top of the
bread. Stir the herbs, seasonings and garlic into the remaining butter and
baste each bird. Bake, uncovered, in a preheated oven at 375 degrees for 40
minutes to 1 hour, depending on your taste. This recipe yields 6 servings.
Comments: In ancient Greece small birds were very popular at a formal
feast. Homer, the great poet, was particularly fond of thrushes and he sang
an epic poem about them titled "Epikichlides." This recipe is probably as
close as we can come to the object of his affection.
