We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

The person characterized by an angry heart has a propensity to make an idol of power, control, having their own way, or to be covetous. This person might find themselves making conscious and/or unconscious statements like, “I want respect or peace!” or “I can’t believe so and so!” A person who chooses not to deal with an angry heart may be characterized by bitterness, judgment toward others, discontentment, lack of joy, and strained relationships and/or continual conflict in relationships. Others might comment that their actions and attitude can be volatile, ungrateful, condemning, grouchy, intimidating, irritable or difficult.
Garrett Higbee

It is often ignorantly and frivolously charged against Christian men that it is selfish in them to seek heaven and glory for their own souls; but no man who is truly seeking salvation will be moved by that accusation. When men really begin to seek their salvation, and to turn their faces to the glory of heaven, then it is that all selfish and ignoble desires receive their death-blow. It is not selfish, surely, for the diseased to seek healing, or the hungry food, or the prodigal his father’s house. So far from this being a sign that the heart is selfish, there is no surer sign that it is being sanctified.

1 c Semisweet chocolate chips; (6 ounces)

2 Baskets strawberries; hulled, halved,

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 325F. Sift flour, 1/2 cup sugar, cocoa, baking powder,
baking soda and salt into large bowl. Mix in chocolate chips. Mix in just
enough chilled cream to form dough that will be firm enough to roll out.
Turn out dough onto well-floured work surface. Using well-floured hands,
pat out dough to 3/4-inch-thick rectangle, frequently sliding long knife
under dough to prevent sticking. With floured 2-inch star-shaped cookie
cutter, cut out stars. Gather dough scraps; pat out to 3/4-inch-thick
rectangle and cut out additional stars (for total of about 24).
Brush stars with butter, sprinkle with additional sugar. Arrange shortcake
stars sugared side down on 2 heavy large baking sheets. Brush tops with
butter and sprinkle with sugar. Bake until shortcakes feel firm and tester
inserted into center comes out with a few moist crumbs, about 22 minutes.
Transfer shortcakes to racks and cool (Can be made 1 day ahead. Cover, let
stand at room temperature.)
Place scoop of ice cream in each of 8 bowls. Garnish with sauce, berries,
whipped cream, 1 or 2 stars and mint, if desired. Serve immediately.
