Don’t think such heavenly mindedness makes us pilgrims no earthly good. Don’t pooh-pooh it as looking at the world through pie-in-the-sky, rose-colored glasses. Sojourners who think the most of the next world are usually those who are doing the highest good in this one. It is the person whose mind is only on earthly things who, when it comes to earth, does little good.

Paul [addressed] the Corinthians as “those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints” (1 Cor. 1:2). The congregation in Corinth was anything but a “holy” people in terms of life and conduct; false teaching, schisms, and immorality marred the church. Still, it was a congregation of saints, of the sanctified, because in spite of the sinful conduct of many of its members and the worldly character of the church itself, it was still the church of God in Corinth.

Bacon And Swiss Waffles

INGREDIENTS

2 c Bisquick original baking mix
1 1/2 c Milk
2 Eggs
1 c Shredded Swiss cheese, 4
ounces
8 Bacon, crisply cooked and
crumbled about 1/2 cup

INSTRUCTIONS

HEAT waffle iron; grease if necessary.  Beat baking mix, milk and  eggs
with wire whisk or hand beater until smooth. Stir in cheese and  bacon.
POUR batter by scant 1 cupfuls onto center of hot waffle iron.  BAKE
until steaming stops and waffle is golden brown. Carefully remove
