We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Jesus did not accept religious people. In fact, He kept His fiercest threats for them. You see, Jesus was not about sentimentality; He was about truth. Jesus is truth personified. He is the living manifestation of the holy law of God, and as such, He perfectly understood that religion, spiritual teaching, contrary to the truth comes from hell and sends people there. Anything but the truth is a damning deception that has the greatest power to destroy souls forever because it gives the illusion that all is well. In fact, I would go so far as to say that of all the evils in the world, of all the sins in the world, of all the iniquities in the world, our Lord knew that religion was the worst — false religion — and especially false Judaism and false Christianity. And that's why the severest eternal judgment will be rendered for the religious who perverted the Old Testament and the New Testament.
John MacArthur

I think of Peter after He denied the Lord. The Bible says, “He went out and wept bitterly” (Lk. 22:62). Psalm 38:18, “For I confess my iniquity; I am full of anxiety because of my sin.” Jeremiah 31:18, “I have surely heard Ephraim grieving, ‘You have chastised me, and I was chastised, like an untrained calf; bring me back that I may be restored, for You are the LORD my God.’” In the Beatitudes our Lord said, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted” (Mt. 5:4). In 2 Corinthians 7, Paul spoke of a “godly sorrow.” In the depths of your relationship with God have you ever experienced this? When we sin against God we should experience our most intense grief. In verse 3 of Psalm 6, David speaks of His soul being “greatly dismayed.”

Seafood, Grains American Appetizers, Fish, Jaw, Salads 2 Servings

INGREDIENTS

2 Red beets
3 c Rice vinegar
4 c Water
2 T Mustard seeds
1 T Anise seed
1/4 c Sugar
1 T Cumin seed
4 oz Grape seed oil
1 Bunch fresh chives
Salt to taste
1 oz Lemon juice
12 oz Whole smoked rainbow trout
4 Bunches of baby leaf lettuce
Zest of 1 lemon

INSTRUCTIONS

Peel the beets and slice into 1/4 inch thick rounds. In a nonreactive
pot combine the venegar, seeds, and sugar. Bring to a boil and reduce
by half. Add the water and bring back to a boil. Add beets and cook
until done but still firm. Remove from heat and let beets cool in
liquid. (The beets can be done a week ahead.) To make the lemon
vinegar: Combine 2 ounces of the strained cooking liquid from the
beets with the lemon juice. If necessary, remove the bones from the
trout. Bones can be easily removed by taking out the backbone, and the
pin bones for the most part will come with it. Peel skin off the
fillets. Flake the fish gently into small pieces about the size of
lump crab meat. Store the fish in the refrigerator or until ready to
serve. To make the chive oil: Combine the chives with the grape seed
oil in a blender. Puree until smooth; season with salt. To assemble
the salad: Remove the beets from the liquid and cook on a grill or in
a skillet until warmed. Place three slices of beet onto each plate.
Drizzle about 1 T chive oil around beets; do the same with the lemon
vinegar. Divide the trout into equal portions and place a small pile
of trout on top of the beets. Finish salads by placing one small bunch
of baby lettuce in the center of each plate and sprinkling with lemon
zest. From "The Austin American Statesman" typed by jessann :) Posted
