We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Both our Lord and His bondslave Paul made clear that true prayer is not dreamy reverie. “All vital praying makes a drain on a man’s vitality. True intercession is a sacrifice, a bleeding sacrifice,” wrote J.H. Jowett. Jesus performed miracles without a sign of outward strain, but “He offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears” (Hebrews 5:7).

In times of struggle and failure, we need to do more than pronounce judgment on what’s wrong and enforce punishment. We need to talk, discuss, question, evaluate, engage, and interact with our teenagers, hoping that God will use these moments of opportunity to open their eyes a little more to who they really are and to their constant need for Christ.

Meats, Grains, Vegetables Chinese Chicken 4 Servings

INGREDIENTS

2 T Low-sodium soy sauce
4 Skinned, 6-ounce chicken
breast halves
3 T Sesame seeds
2 T All-purpose flour
1/4 t Salt
1/4 t Pepper
Vegetable cooking spray
1 T Reduced-calorie margarine
melted

INSTRUCTIONS

Here are two from my favorite magazine, Cooking Light. Place soy sauce
in a shallow dish; add chicken, turning to coat. Remove chicken from
soy sauce; discard soy sauce. Combine sesame seeds and next 3
ingredients in a large zip-top  heavy-duty plastic bag. Add chicken;
seal bag, and shake to coat chicken with sesame seed mixture. Place
chicken in a 13- x 9- x 2-inch baking dish coated with cooking spray.
Drizzle margarine over chicken. Bake at 400 deg for 45 minutes or
until done. Note: This is a really tasty and quick recipe. A great use
for those extra soy sauce packets you get from Chinese take-out.
