God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

In their book, Victims and Victors, David Reardon and associates draw on the accounts of 192 women who experienced pregnancy as the result of rape or incest. It turns out that when victims of violence speak for themselves, their opinion of abortion is nearly unanimous and the exact opposite of what most would predict: nearly all the women interviewed said they regretted aborting their babies conceived via rape or incest. Of those giving an opinion, more than 90 percent said they would discourage other victims of sexual violence from having abortions. Not one who gave birth to a child expressed regret.
Randy Alcorn

If you are not feeding your soul on the realities of the presence, promises, and provisions of Christ, you will ask the people, situations, and things around you to be the messiah that they can never be. If you are not attaching your identity to the unshakable love of your Savior, you will ask the things in your life to be your Savior, and it will never happen. If you are not requiring yourself to get your deepest sense of well-being vertically, you will shop for it horizontally, and you will always come up empty. If you are not resting in the one true gospel, preaching it to yourself over and over again, you will look to another gospel to meet the needs of your unsettled heart.

Seafood, Dairy French Main dish, Seafood 4 Servings

INGREDIENTS

1 French Bread, 12" Long
1/3 c Melted Butter
1 pt Shucked Oysters, Drained
Tabasco Sauce
Hot Heavy Cream, Optional

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 425 øF. Cut off the top of the bread lengthwise,
scoop out most of the bread of the bottom half, leaving a shell about
3/4" thick. Brush the inside of the bottom and the cut side of the top
with melted butter. Put the loaf and "lid," cut sides up, on an
ungreased baking sheet, bake until toasted golden brown, about 20
minutes (the lid will be done first; check that it does not overcook).
Meanwhile, saut the oysters in hot butter until plump. Add salt,
pepper, a dash of Tabasco, and, if desired, a little hot cream. Fill
the loaf with the hot fried oysters and put the lid on top. Heat for
10 minutes or until ready to serve. Cut in thick slices if the loaf is
long. NOTE: Individual rolls can also be used: allow about 3 oysters
for each one. The amount of oysters required for this recipe varies
according to the size of the oysters and the size of the loaf of
bread. In any case, the bread "basket" should be filled to the top
with oysters.
