We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

God’s Word is His supernatural power for accomplishing His supernatural work. That’s why our eloquence, innovations, and programs are so much less important than we think; that’s why we as pastors must give ourselves to preaching, not programs; and that’s why we need to be teaching our congregations to value God’s Word over programs. Preaching the content and intent of God’s Word is what unleashes the power of God on the people of God, because God’s power for building His people is in His Word, particularly as we find it in the Gospel (Rom. 1:16). God’s Word builds His church. So preaching His Gospel is primary (Mark Dever and Paul Alexander).

Humor humanizes and warms the heart. Those who follow you know that you have weaknesses and foibles, so let them share in the humor you direct at yourself. Humor should never be used at another’s expense, but it can be used to make people feel at ease, to relieve tension, and even to affirm humanity. Humor must never be crude or disrespectful, but it can build respect.

INSTRUCTIONS

This is a recipe I got from the Toronto Star. I'm not really sure if
this is what you're looking for, but I thought I'd send it anyway. It
was in a section on cooking for one or two, so it's a smaller more
simple recipe, but I've found it a great way to use up those left over
pieces of bread that always hang around the refrigerator. While
preheating oven to 350F, dry - but don't toast - bread. Cut into Brush
3-cup casserole with a litlle melted butter. Place bread cubes in
casserole. Sprinkle with raisins. Scald milk in small saucepan until
hot, but not boiling. Lightlyt beat egg. Stir in remaining butter,
milk, sugar, vanilla and cinnimon. Pour over bread mixture, pushing
bread under liquid. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until knife inserted near
centre comes out clean. Makes 2 servings. APETERS@JULIAN.UWO.CA
