We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Because we understand our worth as image-bearers and our identity as children of God, we will not look to the Internet to prove that we are important, valuable, and loved. And because we accept the presence of indwelling sin, we will not be blind to the potential idolatries and temptations we can succumb to online. And because we know ourselves to be fallen creatures, we will accept the limits of our human condition. We cannot have meaningful relationships with thousands of people. We cannot really know what is going on in the world. We cannot be truly here and there at the same time. The biggest deception of our digital age may be the lie that says we can be omni-competent, omni-informed, and omni-present. We cannot be any of these things. We must choose our absence, our inability, and our ignorance – and choose wisely. The sooner we embrace this finitude, the sooner we can be free.
Kevin DeYoung

Paul says the church is “built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets” (Eph. 2:20). I conclude that all we need to know for salvation and sanctification has been given to us through the teaching of the apostles and prophets, and that this teaching is now found in the Scriptures. Now that God has spoken in the last days through His Son (Heb. 1:2), we don’t need further words from Him to explain what Jesus Christ has accomplished in His ministry, death, and resurrection. Instead, we are “to contend for the faith that was delivered to the saints once for all” through the apostles and prophets (Jude 3).

1 1/2 lb Goat or Mutton
cut into 1 inch cubes
1 t Salt
1 t Pepper, freshly ground
1 T Curry powder
1 oz Lard or cooking fat
1 Onion, sliced
1 1/4 c Stock
2 Chiles
seeded and chopped

INSTRUCTIONS

=========================> Directions <=========================
Season the meat with salt and pepper and curry powder, sifted together
and rubbed into the cubes. Set aside for 1 hour. Heat the lard or fat
in a saucepan, add the meat and onion and brown lightly. Add the stock
and chilies, cover and simmer over a low heat until the meat is
tender; the timing varies with the meat, mutton, which is more often
used for "curried goat", takes less time than goat. Add the potatoes
and continue cooking for a further 20 minutes or until they are soft
and the gravy thickens. Serve on a bed of rice. =====================>
Notes and Credits <===================== This is almost a National
Jamaican dish, eaten by many people at least once a week, even the Ras
Tafaris, the sect who follow the Emperor of Ethiopia. The "Rastas"
make very durable cooking bowls from scrap aluminium, hand cast in
sand. The aluminium is melted over a charcoal fire, poured into a
mould and plugged after it hardens. Once can put these bowls on the
fire and they stay hot for a long time after removal, cold things stay
cold and they can be hurled around and never break. Goat and mutton
are the meats of the Jamaican people; in small villages one may see a
sign "Curried goat today" very much like "Fish Frying" in some shop
windows in England. "Caribbean Cooking for Pleasure" by Mary Slater,
