We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

The question then is how can we, as believers, worship God with our financial resources while at the same time rejecting temptations that lead to idolatry and covetousness? The answer is found in giving to the Lord and His purposes. When we give our money to the work of the gospel, we not only demonstrate our heartfelt love for God (2 Cor. 9:7), we also store up for ourselves treasures in heaven (Mt. 6:16-24) (Jonathan Rourke).

We don’t come to church, to be a church. We come to Christ, and then we are built up as a church. If we come to church just to be with one another, one another is all we’ll get. And it isn’t enough. Inevitably, our hearts will grow empty, and then angry. If we put community first, we will destroy community. But if we come to Christ first and submit ourselves to Him and draw life from Him, community gets traction.

INGREDIENTS

3 c Milk
3/4 c Granulated sugar
1/4 t Salt
1/4 c Cornstarch
1 t Vanilla
2 T Margarine or butter
1/2 c Creamy peanut butter
Prebaked 9-inch pastry shell
Whipped cream
Finely chopped peanuts

INSTRUCTIONS

Scald milk by heating just to below boiling point, until bubbles form
around edge. Sift together the sugar, salt and cornstarch into a
2-quart bowl. Then add half the scalded milk and mix well. Blend with
a wire whip. Pour that mixture back into the remaining half of the
scalded milk in a pan, stirring while continuing to cook. Add
margarine and vanilla, continuing cooking over low heat until the
cornstarch no longer tastes, as the filling mixture is thickened.
Remove from heat and fold in the peanut butter. Mix well. Pour into a
prebaked 9-inch pastry shell. Garnish with whipped cream and finely
chopped peanuts. Refrigerate. This is absolutely fantastic, even
without the whipped cream topping! Recipe by: Mo Niemi of Mo's in
