We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

The simplest way to define worship is that it is to attribute worth to God’s revealed character. The command to “ascribe to the Lord the glory due to His name” in Psalm 29:2 does not mean we add anything to God. It simply means that we acknowledge Him for who He is and in this way glorify or honor Him. This is precisely what is being done in heaven (Revelation 4:11, 5:12).
Bill Thrasher

What is the result of…people-idolatry? As in all idolatry, the idol we choose to worship soon owns us. The object we fear overcomes us. Although insignificant in itself, the idol becomes huge and rules us. It tells us how to think, what to feel, and how to act. It tells us what to wear, it tells us to laugh at the dirty joke, and it tells us to be frightened to death that we might have to get up in front of a group and say something. The whole strategy backfires. We never expect that using people to meet our desires leaves us enslaved to them.

Vegetables Parsnips, Side dishes, Stewart, Vegetables 4 Servings

INGREDIENTS

1 lb Parsnips, ends trimmed
1 lb Cipolline onion, peeled
1/4 c Fresh rosemary
2 T Extra-virgin olive oil
Coarse salt
Freshly ground black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

Heat the oven to 425F. In a roasting pan, combine the parsnips, onions
and rosemary. Season with salt and pepper. Add the olive oil and toss
until the vegetables are thoroughly coated. Roast for 40 to 45
minutes, shaking the pan every 15 minutes, until the vegetables are
deep amber. PER SERVING: 206 cals, 7.1 g fat (29.5% cff) PANTRY:
Cipolline, sometimes called wild onions, are actually bulbs of the
grape hyacinth. Since they can be somewhat hard to find even when in
season during the autumn months, small yellow onions may be
substituted. [or shallots] KitpatH TIP: Peeling is easier if we blanch
the onions first. Cut an X on the root end of the cipollines; cook the
onion in plenty of boiling water for about 1 mins. Remove; rinse in
cold water; peel. Buster and Kitpath Nov 97 Recipe by: Healthy Quick
