We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Oh, it’s more than just the fear of being persecuted. When we choose to live lives that are not pleasing to the Lord, we do so because we fear missing out on fun, or fear that our idols of dependency will be snatched away, or fear God’s way won’t effectively get the job done, or fear we will be pulled out of our comfort zone, or fear that it is going to cost us too much. The list continues, but it all comes back to fear, and fear results because we walk by sight and a lack of faith in God’s promises (cf. 2 Cor. 5:7). We don’t always live to please God because we think we know better than God as to what it takes to make us more productive and content and happy.

It is so diabolical! So many people, so often in my own life, convinced they are right when there are so grossly deceived. I see people falling for Satan’s lies hook, line and sinker! Somehow they believe that they will be happier if they disobey God as if Satan really has our best interest in mind. He comes as an evil foe with malicious suggestions and at times an angel of light speaking the Word of God. He works through our desires and human weakness and doubts. Yet remember this, he is always lying, always seeking to destroy and always opposed to God.

CATEGORY CUISINE TAG YIELD
Digest, Fatfree, Jan. 1 Servings

INGREDIENTS

3 Good sized sweet potatoes
Equal bulk in parsnips
1 t Cumin

INSTRUCTIONS

Peel sweet potatoes and parsnips, cut into chunks, and cook in water
until soft. A pressure cooker speeds this up. Drain, puree in food
processor. Mix the puree and cumin and put in a casserole dish. Allow
to sit for 15 minutes for cumin flavor to develop, mix again, serve. I
subbed the cumin for a T of sesame tahini, which can also be subbed
for with a few drops of sesame oil if you can afford it. I believe the
cff would stay below 10%. Oh, and the water from cooking makes a good
start on soup the next day. Posted by "Anne.Cox" <20676AC@msu.edu> to
