We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Some people object to taking vows, but in the Bible you will find many great men of God directed by covenants, promises, vows and pledges. A carnal man refuses the discipline of such commitments. He says, “I want to be free. It is legalism.” There are many religious tramps in the world who will not be bound by anything. Now there are five vows I have in mind which we do well to make and keep. 1. Deal thoroughly with sin. 2. Never own anything- get rid of the sense of possessing. 3. Never defend yourself. 4. Never pass anything on about anybody else that will hurt him. 5. Never accept any glory. Remember that these five vows are not something you write in the back of your Bible and forget. They have got to be written in your own blood.

If you dislike a holy God now, why would you want to be with Him forever? If worship does not capture your attention at present, what makes you think it will thrill you in some heavenly future? If ungodliness is your delight here on earth, what will please you in heaven, where all is clean and pure? You would not be happy there if you are not holy here.

packed in fruit juice To prepare the dressing: In a blender or food
processor, pure the drained pear halves with the lemon juice, vinegar,
olive oil, salt and pepper until very smooth and silky. Transfer to a
jar, cover and refrigerate. To prepare the salad: Place the chopped
walnuts in a small dry skillet. Toast over medium heat about 4
minutes, until fragrant. Remove from the pan and set aside. Place the
salad mix in a bowl and cover with a paper towel. Refrigerate until
ready to serve. Peel the tough outer skin from the bell pepper with a
vegetable peeler. (You probably won't be able to get all of the
peeling off, especially in the crevices of the pepper.) Stem, seed and
finely sliver the pepper; put into the bowl with the salad. Just
before serving, core and dice the pear and add to the salad with the
walnuts and Gorgonzola. Add the dressing, toss to coat and serve.
