We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

What moves God is not our supposed goodness or trophies of righteousness, but rather our desperation and cry to Him for grace. If we could earn it, grace would no longer be grace. Grace by its very definition is giving us what we do not deserve. If we were entitled to God’s favor, it would be a wage that we are due. But since we have merited nothing from God and God being God owes us nothing, we see His favor both in salvation and the blessings that follow all as a token of His undeserved grace to the praise of His glory.

All of God’s emotions, including His love in all its aspects, cannot be divorced from God’s knowledge, God’s power, God’s will. If God loves, it is because He chooses to love; if He suffers, it is because He chooses to suffer. God is impassible in the sense that He sustains no “passion,” no emotion, that makes Him vulnerable from the outside, over which He has no control, or which He has not foreseen.

Icing 1 Cake

INGREDIENTS

3/4 c Orange juice, strained
2 T Lemon juice
3/4 c Sugar, granulated
1 T Orange rind, finely grated

INSTRUCTIONS

Makes: Icing and filling for one cake. SEE: Cake, 1-2-3-4 Cake by
James Beard for the cake recipe.  :       Mix the orange juice, lemon
juice, sugar and orange rind  together and drizzle the mixture over the
three still warm cake  layers. Be careful not to let it all soak into
one spot.  :       Then pile the layers on top of each other. The juice
mixture  will give the cake a lovely, fresh, fruity flavor and it is
not rich  like a chocolate or other candy flavored icing. Leave the
cake to  cool.  File
