We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Grace frees us from having to earn God’s acceptance by meeting others’ expectations, and it also frees us from the unholy pride and prejudice of determining others’ acceptance by God on the basis of our own wisdom.
Bryan Chapell

Nothing, in fact, has done more harm to Christianity than the practice of filling the ranks of Christ's army with every volunteer who is willing to make a little profession, and talk fluently of his experience. It has been painfully forgotten that numbers alone do not make strength, and that there may be a great quantity of mere outward religion, while there is very little real grace. Let us all remember this. Let us keep back nothing from young professors and inquirers after Christ. Let us not enlist them on false pretenses. Let us tell them plainly that there is a crown of glory at the end. But let us tell them no less plainly, that there is a daily cross in the way.

INGREDIENTS

1 Frisee lettuce, trimmed of
coarse
leaves and well
washed
18 1cm rings black pudding
stripped of
wrapping or the
same amount in 1cm
cubes
100 g Bacon in a piece, sliced
into lardons
2 T Sunflower oil, optional
1 Green apple such as Granny
Smith
1 Sweet red apple such as Fuji
5 T Olive oil
1 T Cider vinegar
1 T Grainy mustard

INSTRUCTIONS

Check the black pudding for stray plastic and gently fry in the oil or
grill with the bacon. Meanwhile, whisk the oil, vinegar and mustard
together in a large bowl and season. Slice and core the apple into the
dressing and toss to cover. (The acid in the vinegar will prevent the
apple from discolouring). Add the frisee and dress thoroughly. Divide
between six plates and form into attractive piles. When the pudding
has grilled to a pleasantly brown stage, drain away any excess fat and
top the salad. Serve with crusty bread immediately. A glass of good
cider would be the best match for this dish. Converted by MC_Buster.
