We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

In a way completely incomprehensible to the human mind, Jesus Christ not only became the God-man in the incarnation but also will forever continue to be that. As High Priest, He continually intercedes for all those He saves. Because a priest must represent both God and men, He could not have been believers’ High Priest apart from His deigning to become a man. If He had never been touched with the feelings of their infirmities, including being tempted in every way as they are, He could not have fully identified with them and thereby been able to encourage, strengthen, and encourage them in their temptations.
John MacArthur

Satan and his demons never, never act against God’s people without the permission of God. And when God gives them permission, He always uses their work to accomplish some divine purpose. Often, to exalt the power of God and prove the devotion of His followers, God permits Satan to work the hardest on the noblest servants of God.

CATEGORY CUISINE TAG YIELD
Grains American Dessert 8 Servings

INGREDIENTS

2 c Cornmeal
1 c Seeded Bing cherries, fresh
frozen or canned
1/2 lb Soft butter
2 c Brown sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

I think it is important to let our children know that not all
Americans have enjoyed sweet things in the forms that are so common
today. This is such a treat...a treat from the Indian community. It is
made with truly American food products, though we will substitute Bing
cherries for the chokecherries and butter for the buffalo kidney fat.
We still have a dish that is close to a wonderful Indian snack. The
toasted cornmeal winds up tasting something like popcorn. Place the
cornmeal on a cookie sheet and toast it in a 325ø oven until it
begins to brown. Careful--this will not take long. Drain the cherries
well and chop coarsely. Mix all ingredients together well and chill in
the refrigerator. To serve, simply dish out by the tablespoonful. It
is eaten like candy. From <The Frugal Gourmet Cooks American>.
