We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

We must, during all our labour and in all else we do, even in our reading and writing, holy though both may be – I say more, even during our formal devotions and spoken prayers – pause for some short moment, as often indeed as we can, to worship God in the depth of our heart, to savour Him, though it be but in passing, and as it were by stealth. Since you are not unaware that God is present before you whatever you are doing, that he is at the depth and centre of your soul, why not then pause from time to time at least from that which occupies you outwardly, even from your spoken prayers, to worship Him inwardly, to praise him, petition him, to offer him your heart and thank him? What can God have that gives Him greater satisfaction than that a thousand times a day all His creatures should thus pause to withdraw and worship him in the heart?

God is our guide. He leads us on paths of righteousness and directs our steps in accordance with His perfect plan. He knows the way we should go and He will never lead us astray. We can trust in His guidance and follow Him with confidence, knowing that He will lead us to green pastures and still waters.

    1 אמת הדבר איש כי יבקש לו פקידות הוא מתאוה מעשה טוב׃
    2 ופקיד העדה צריך להיות איש אשר אין בו דפי בעל אשה אחת משל ברוחו צנוע ונחמד לבריות מכניס ארחים ומבין ללמד ולא אהב יין ולא נוח להכות ולא בצע בצע רע׃
    3 כי אם דן לכף זכות ולא בעל קטטה ולא אהב כסף׃
    4 ויהי מנהיג את ביתו בטוב ומדריך את בניו למשמעתו בכל הישר׃
    5 כי אם לא ידע איש להנהיג את ביתו איככה יוכל לדאג לעדת אלהים׃
    6 ואל יהי תלמיד הדש למען לא ירהב לבו ויפל בדין המשטין׃
    7 והוא גם צריך לשם טוב בפי אלה אשר בחוץ פן יפל בחרפה ובמוקש המשטין׃
    8 וכן גם השמשים יהיו ישרים ולא מחליקי לשון ולא אהבים סבא יין ולא נטים אחרי בצע רע׃
    9 כי אם ישמרו את סוד האמונה ברוח טהורה׃
    10 וגם אלה יבחנו בראשונה ואחר כן ישמשו אם אין בהם דפי׃
    11 וככה הנשים תהיינה ישרות ולא מלשינות משלות ברוחן ונאמנות בכל׃
    12 השמשים יהיו כל אחד בעל אשה אחת ומנהלים בטוב את בניהם ואת בתיהם׃
    13 כי המשמשים היטב יקנו לעצמם מעלה טובה ובטחון רב באמונת המשיח ישוע׃
    14 זאת אני כתב אליך ואקוה לבא אליך במהרה׃
    15 ואם אחר הנה תדע איך להתנהג בבית האלהים שהיא עדת אלהים חיים עמוד האמת ומכונה׃
    16 ובודי גדול סוד החסידות אלהים נגלה בבשר נצדק ברוח נראה למלאכים הגד בגוים נתקבל באמונה בעולם נעלה בכבוד׃
