We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Faith...unites the soul with Christ, as a bride is united with her bridegroom. From such a marriage, as [the apostle] Paul says, it follows that Christ and the soul become one body, so that they hold all things in common, whether for better or worse. This means that what Christ possesses belongs to the believing soul, and what the soul possesses belongs to Christ. Thus Christ possesses all good things and holiness; these now belong to the soul. The soul possesses lots of vices and sin; these now belong to Christ... Now is not this a happy business? Christ, the rich, noble and holy bridegroom, takes in marriage this poor, contemptible and sinful little prostitute, takes away all her evil and bestows all His goodness upon her! It is no longer possible for sin to overwhelm her, for she is now found in Christ.

Paul knew from personal experience the pain and anguish of loneliness – verses 10b, 11a, 16a. 3. Paul knew the importance of having the right kind of friends: be discerning and selective – verses 14-15. 4. Paul knew from personal experience the pain of betrayal and abandonment – verses 10a, 16. 5. Paul had learned the importance of forgiving those who had failed him. In fact, he believed in giving old friends who had blown it another chance – verses 11b, 16b. 6. As you grow old in life, in addition to friends, you need books! – verse 13. 7.
ZECH 13:5 Nego æe svaki reæi: Nisam prorok, ratar sam, jer me èovek najmi od mladosti moje.
ZECH 13:6 I ako mu ko reèe: Kakve su ti to rane na rukama? On æe odgovoriti: Dopadoh ih u kuæi prijatelja svojih.
ZECH 13:7 Maèu, ustani na pastira mog, i na èoveka druga mog, govori Gospod nad vojskama, udari pastira, i ovce æe se razbeæi, ali æu okrenuti ruku svoju k malima.
ZECH 13:8 I u svoj zemlji, govori Gospod, dva æe se dela istrebiti u njoj i poginuti, a treæi æe ostati u njoj;
ZECH 13:9 I tu æu treæinu metnuti u oganj, i pretopiæu ih kako se pretapa srebro, i okušaæu ih kako se kuša zlato, oni æe prizvati ime moje, i ja æu im se odazvati i reæi æu: To je moj narod; a oni æe reæi: Gospod je Bog naš.
