We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

It is never on account of its formal nature as a psychic act that faith is conceived in Scripture to be saving. It is not, strictly speaking, even faith in Christ that saves, but Christ that saves through faith. The saving power resides exclusively, not in the act of faith or the attitude of faith or nature of faith, but in the object of faith.
B.B. Warfield

It is an obvious error for all to see in those ministers of the Church who make such a wide gulf between their preaching and their living. They will study hard, to preach exactly, and yet study little or not at all to live exactly. All the week long is little enough to study how to speak for two hours; and yet one hour seems too much time to study how to live all the week. They are loath to misplace a word in their sermons; yet they think nothing of misplacing affections, words, and actions in the course of their lives. Oh, how curiously I have heard some men preach, and how carelessly have I seen them live!
Richard Baxter

A Life Of Seventy Years

A Life Of Seventy Years

Suppose God granted you a life
of seventy years. How would you spend
it? An average person would spent it
like this:

8 years recreating and relaxing

6 years eating

3 years getting an education

5 years riding in a car

4 years talking

14 years working

3 years reading

24 years sleeping

If you went to church every week and prayed for five minutes every
morning and evening, you would give five months to God–five months out of
seventy years.
