The Substance Of Life
The Substance Of Life
Hello my friend:
Through my college science classes, I have discovered many wonderful “truths”. These truths being that everything is made up of neutrons, protons, and electrons; with different bonding capabilities, forming what we know of as the substance of all there is. I am also learning that there are microorganisms, which, as we are finding out, affect the biological and non-biological worlds with a somewhat homeostatic balance. Even the elements as we know them seem to adhere to specific cycles in order to maintain a life supporting atmosphere by which we live in.
Furthermore, I have been learning about the human body and how the human organism is structured and how it functions. Specific cells which form specific tissues; which in turn, form specific organs; which in turn form the systems in our body. I am learning that all these systems must function together, maintaining a homeostatic environment; an organism structured and functioning as a whole.
The benefits of this acquired knowledge within the scientific realm are staggering! From the arrangement of molecules by which we manufacture materials, and the genetic capabilities of microbiological interventions (antibiotics etc.), to the medical technology of today (organ transplants etc.), we have come a long way in our abilities indeed!
Through all of my studies regarding the above discoveries, I cannot help but come to the conclsion that there is a Designer. Everything displays the expert craftsmanship of a divine source. This is not quickly refuted in any case.
Unfortunately, within my studies, I have also discovered other not-so-interesting finds. I have been instructed by some who profess that there are no absolutes. That there are no fixed variables. I have also been informed by many of these same individuals that there is no god. That through the process of time, we have somewhat evolved to the finely tuned specimen, which we know today, as the “naked ape”. This of course is just a figurative example of having evolved from the Monera Kingdom, (or as is now being speculated, from viruses.)
I feel at a great loss somewhat. With my new knowledge of our scientific discoveries and technological advances, it seems a waste to also discover that there is no god.
Have we become so foolish? Are there indeed no absolutes, or is this just a new doctrine being lifted of the ground by those who do not choose to regard God’s absolutes (ie. sin = death… Jesus = eternal life…).
I agree that this is my faith and that everyone has a choice as to what they believe… Yet what I am being taught in school is against knowledge! Are the absence of absolutes evidenced in nature? Unless genetically altered, will an organism bring forth any other organism other than it’s “own kind”? This is a common characteristic value of reproduction… an evidence of life.
Furthermore, the human system not only has many systems functioning together at once, but these systems must function within very strict environments to maintain homeostasis. The pH level within the venous blood and interstitial fluid is idealistically 7.35. Even though this variable is constantly fluctuating, the body (through negative feedback systems) is constantly “checking” this level and acting accordingly. So it is with some of the other levels in our body. The intra cranial fluid pressure must remain within a very strict environment or death threatening circumstances will resul.
Even more so, metabolic activity, which is a necessity for all life, exhibits amazing characteristics which speak of a master designer. Man has all the tools for life… the structure and the functioning of its parts… But where do the thought process come in? What really gives this shell the ability to exist? Personalities, character, and our emotions are traits which do not deal with structure or function… they deal with soul and spirit…
I have found in school that there is a vast amount of knowledge to be had; yet I have also found that there is a great neglect of that knowledge. This is what has saddened me. Yes, it is true that everything does speak of a master designer.. and for those who take it further… if there is a master designer… would He have sought to communicate to us in some way?
Man, on the soul and spiritual side of things, is constantly worshiping one form of a god or another. Church, religion, tribal customs, and such forth are prevalent in this world… proving that this assumption has validity.
But wouldn’t this Master Designer make himself known… as humanity, from within their hearts, seeks after their creator? This He has done in a very functional sense. For God knowing the hearts of all men, Has revealed Himself through His word, which does not lie. He has told us many things before they happened, and unlike supposed contenders, He has always been 100% accurate, without any flaw. But most specially in telling us of a day when He Himself would come, and wash away our sins with His own blood.
There are many bible references, which were written down on manuscripts over a 1500 year time-span, that correlate as to exactly where this messiah would be born; how He would exactly die; and how He would rise again… reaching out to man… to believe and be saved from a pending judgement of sin. This Messiah is Jesus… who died in your place.. to give you life.
Can you imagine getting ten of the famous writers in our history together… and ask them to write down what they think about life? And then bury those works? What you would dig up is 10 very different accounts (or perspectives) on life.
The bible is not only 60 manuscripts, written by 40 authors, but also covers a time-span of 4 thousand + odd years… and many think it is a book that one person sat down and wrote. (I am not claiming that you think this way.) I am using this example only to point out the way in which the bible flows… after many took part in its contents. But that aspect of the Bible, although being rather miraculous, is not its most amazing factual feature. Bible prophecy is one area that many do not want to explore… nor deal with. Can you imagine someone writing: “For dogs have surrounded Me; The assembly of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet; I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me. They divide My garmets among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.” (Psalm 22:16-18)
concerning the Messiah that is to come… approximately 1000 years before the actual recorded event? There are many, hundreds, of such prophecies concerning the Christ that would come…. and they were fulfilled.
Is this any “proof” of God reaching out to man? An absolute God who has afforded us that which is graspable (for lack of a better word)? Perhaps… yet it will still require “faith” to believe… regardless of any proof that might be presented… that faith which comes by reading the Bible… knowing that only God could be its author.
If you wish to look into this further… these scriptures will prove rather interesting to you… as you realize that there is an absolute as is seen in nature, our human anatomy, and our basic bodily functions… an absolute Savior.
The next screen will have a short list of scriptures, please check them out, asking yourself… could these writings happen by chance? Perhaps you to will not doubt the devine influence.
