We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

There are many hearing me who now know well that they are not Christians because they do not love to give. To give largely and liberally, not grudging at all, requires a new heart.
Robert Murray McCheyne

Perhaps you can see why it is astonishing to me that so many people try to define true Christianity in terms of decisions and not affections. Not that decisions are unessential. The problem is that they require so little transformation. Mere decisions are no sure evidence of a true work of grace in the heart. People can make “decisions” about the truth of God while their hearts are far from Him.

FATHER

BASIC R.C. BELIEF Jesus’ command in Matthew 23:9 doesn’t apply to the use of that term for the priests, but that it is merely a title that shows respect. The priests, as ordinary ministers of Baptism, are regarded as spiritual fathers.

CHRISTIAN COMMENT A study of Matthew 23:9 reveals that Jesus was talking about being called Father as a title of religious superiority, precisely as the priests are called. This religious superiority is the basis for the Hierarchy.
