Dreams Come True
79 B7-22-4A DREAMS COME TRUE ON BEDICO Psalm 126:1
INTRODUCTION:
- We know a relatively small amount about dreams
- Webster Defines a Dream as,
- A sequence of sensations, images, thoughts, etc. passing through a sleeping person’s mind.
- A fond hope or aspiration
- Anything so lovely, charming, transitory, etc. as to seem dreamlike.
- What fond hopes do your dreams hold?
- Will they ever come true?
- What lovely, dreamlike things are you hoping for?
- Money & things?
- Happiness & satisfaction?
- Real life & spiritual contentment?
- The Psalmist gives us some insights into dreams
- DO NOT BE AFRAID TO DREAM
- Prov. 29:18, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”
- Numbers 12:6, “If there be a prophet among you, I will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.”
- Jere. 23:28, “The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully.”
- I am dreaming of a REAL REVIVAL taking place here this week.
II. TESTIFY OF YOUR DREAMS (even before they are fulfilled)
- Joel 2:28, “Your old men shall dream dreams”
- Aged men have faced the hard times and seen God work
- The Psalmist describes Israel in Egypt
- As slaves, they still dreamed of going home
- Is. 35:6, “in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.”
III. CONTINUE TO WORK WHEN IT SEEMS THAT YOUR DREAMS ARE WASTED
- Ecc. 5:3, “For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words”
- Talking is the mark of a fool
- One who gets down to business and work is the one that will see his dreams come true
- “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.” (v.5)
IV. DREAM OF A FRUITFUL HARVEST
- A Harvest of Joy
- “Moving Up” Revival can pull you out of depression
- “For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring” (Is. 44:3)
- “Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing” (v.2)
- “The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are
glad” (v.3)
- “Moving Up” Revival can restore the joy of salvation and “then will I teach transgressors… and sinners shall be converted.” (Ps. 51:13)
- “Moving Up” Revival can pull you out of depression
- A Harvest of Souls
- “He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” (v. 6)
- Is. 43:19, “Behold, I will do a new thing…. I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
- Gen. 17:6, “And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.”
- The heathen even said, “The Lord hath done great things for them” (v.2)
- COMMITMENT:
- Dream great things of God (He can do anything)
- Do great things for God (He expects us to work)
- Expect great things from God (He will bless)
