II. NECESSITY OF GOOD TEACHERS
- Christian Education is no better than its teachers
- Motto: “Consecrated incompetence is still incompetence.”
- All should seek to be the best possible (cf. l Co. 4:2)
III. TEACHING IS A SCIENCE (and can be learned)
- Many have innate gifts but all must learn
- Principles of good teaching can be mastered
- Conditions for good teaching can be planned and arranged
- Teaching is more than just telling
- Learning is not complete until the pupil is different for the experience
IV. PLAN CONDITIONS FOR GOOD TEACHING AND LEARNING
- Teacher must prepare thoroughly
- Teacher must consider learners (involve them)
- Teacher must consider goals
- “Carry over” into life is NOT automatic
- Seek changed conduct and attitudes
- A NEW LOOK AT LEARNING (flannelgraph)
