II. THE WORD OF GOD IS REQUIRED

  1. Places all under sin
    1. Vv. 9-18 & 23, “For all have sinned…”
    2. Gal. 3:22, “But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.”
  2. Gives every person a choice
    1. Verse 27, “law…works? Nay: but by the law of faith”
    2. Trust and Obey or rebel and face hell
  3. Points to grace
    1. Verse 24, “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus”
    2. Ep. 2:8, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:”
  4. Basis of judgment
    1. Verse 6 says God will judge the world right
    2. Rev. 20:12, “And the books were opened: and another book…. and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books.”
