Worship That Feeds The Soul 2 40 B9-30-4A.P2

III. WORSHIP IS SPIRITUAL

  1. The text tells us that the Head nourishes the body
  2. When we worship God in Spirit and in Truth, we are blessed
    1. Dependence on Christ and interdependence on each other develops unity in the body of Christ
    2. We increase with the “increase of God.”
      1. Attendence and offerings in church will increase
      2. Spiritually the church will increase
      3. Individually, we will all increase with the INCREASE OF GOD
  3. Worship assures a reward
    1. Down here it rewards us with a sense of communion with our God
    2. In heaven, (I Cor. 15:58), “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”

ALTAR CALL

  1. Last verse in the Psalms (150:6), “Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.”
  2. God the Father is seeking for people to worship Him in spirit and in truth (cf. Jn. 4:23)
  3. Plan of worship used by Legion:
    1. Ran to Jesus
    2. Revealed his need
    3. Stayed until need was met
    4. Imitated Jesus (clothes, mind, desire to learn)
    5. Wanted to stay in church
    6. Obeyed the command to “go”
  4. If we WORSHIP God and do so in the RIGHT WAY, we will:
    1. Be blessed spiritually
    2. Be increased
    3. Be rewarded
