Prepare for this year’s election! My approach this election year, is to select the party and candidate who most honor God.

We have been taught the Bible story of shepherd-boy David, who with no prior political experience, God chose to rule a nation.  And you know that while following God, David and that nation were incredibly blessed.  God promises and gives much to those who follow him.

Any man can stumble (as David did), but we can get a better start with one honoring God now, than one who only mentions God, but has no relationship with Him.  People cannot follow God, when they don’t know His voice.

What does “honor” mean?  A synonym is “veneration”, which is both the feeling and the reverential expression of respect, love, and awe.  God says if we love him, we will obey His commands – so a man who honors God will obey Him.

What political candidate and party are most in respect, love, and awe (and obedience) to God?  God tells us who loves Him: it is those who obey His commands.  Which of our candidates – today – obeys, promotes and defends the commands of God?  Look at these quotes from http://www.constitutionparty.org/party_platform.php

“The goal of the Constitution Party is to restore American jurisprudence to
its Biblical foundations and to limit the federal government to its
Constitutional boundaries.”

“The pre-born child, whose life begins at fertilization, is a human being
created in God’s image. The first duty of the law is to prevent the
shedding of innocent blood. It is, therefore, the duty of all civil
governments to secure and to safeguard the lives of the pre-born.”

“All teaching is related to basic assumptions about God and man. Education
as a whole, therefore, cannot be separated from religious faith.”

“It is our responsibility to be prudent, productive, and efficient stewards
of God’s natural resources. In that role, we are commanded to be fruitful
and multiply, and to replenish the earth and develop it (e.g., to turn
deserts into farms and wastelands into groves).”

“The law of our Creator defines marriage as the union between one man and
one woman. The marriage covenant is the foundation of the family, and the
family is fundamental in the maintenance of a stable, healthy and
prosperous social order.”

“God, who endows us with life, liberty, property, and the right to pursue
happiness, also exhorts individuals to care for the needy, the sick, the
homeless, the aged, and those who are otherwise unable to care for
themselves.”

Chuck Baldwin is the Constitution Party presidential candidate.  You can see a recent interview with him here: http://video.woodtv.com/wvx.php?video_id=12732

I am not interested in the man, Chuck Baldwin, or the Constitution Party.  I endorse those who honor God, whoever they may be.  And that will guide my vote.
